The History of Ioannini Downtown

The small city of Ioannina Downtown, otherwise known as Yannena in Greece, is the administrative capital and second largest city of Epirus and the Ioannin district in northern Greece. According to the 2020 census, the population of this small city was 65,865, while the municipal area had 112,811 inhabitants. This means that the majority of Ioannin's inhabitants live in the downtown area.

The city is situated in the north-eastern part of the Peloponnesus, between the island of Corfu and Sicily, and close to Italy's Mediterranean coast. The city, which is also called by many other names such as Yanninia, is famous throughout the world for its picturesque beaches and historic architecture.
