In response to the recent economic crisis, the Lefkada was closed to all commercial activities on August 8th and was only open for residents and tourist guides to visit. However, it is possible to still get to the island from Skopelos by road via a ferry service. From Skopelos you can then take a taxi to the Lefkada and drive to the pier where you can catch a ferry back to Skopelos.

The marina, which is not connected to any other public road, has a couple of restaurants, bars, and a few shops, but there is no shopping available. There are two hotels on the Lefkada; the Hotel Fourias Leketeloupi and the Hotel Simeon Leketeloupi.
