Mithymna Molyvos is an Historic City in Southern Greece

Mithymnas Molyvos, known as Mytilene, is a small coastal town and former municipal municipality on the Aegean island of Lesbos. It is located off the coast of Leros, a Greek Island, in the north-eastern Pelion Peninsula. During the early centuries of Greek history, this area was known as "Myrmidon" (city of Myrmidons). Today, it has been renamed "Mithymnas Molyvos".

The ancient times were very important for this city, because it was a centre for commerce. The port of Melitea became a popular point of attraction among merchants and tourists. As the city grew, more structures and public buildings were built to commemorate the importance of this place in the history of Greek civilization.

In the ancient days, this town was known as "Oinos", meaning 'Land of the Oxen'.
