Skiathos Port is the most important island of Kos, located off the north coast of Kos and one of the most sought after tourist spots in Greece. This island was known as Skiathos by the Greeks and was the site of a legendary battle in which King Alexander defeated his rival and the first Greek king to arrive on the island of Kos. It was also on this island that Alexander's army destroyed the Persian fleet.
